Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has announced that he is resuming his infamous online lessons to assist candidates sitting their final national examinations.

In a post on Sunday, Owino covered the topic in math on whole numbers and fractions to aid candidates awaiting their Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams this year.

He initiated the popular hour-long revision sessions during the Covid-19 in 2020 at a time when all students had been sent away from school to safeguard them from the pandemic.

The ODM MP usually offers lessons in Chemistry and Math to candidates going to sit their KCPE exam and those set for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exam.

“The main aim of why I am doing this is so that I can motivate our candidates to pass the examinations. Because if I came from Nyalenda slums selling chang'aa, then you as a candidate can also make it," he said before starting his lesson.

The second-term lawmaker undertook to conduct the revisions weekly from 7:30pm and is mulling taking his lessons to the different regions of the country from January 2023.

“We will be handing Class 4 to Class 8, that is Grade 4 to Grade 6,” said Owino.

Based on his Twitter account, Babu says he holds four degrees, a First-Class Honor in Actuarial science, Second-Class Upper Division in LLB Law and two Master’s degrees.
