The government has released SH4.2 billion to prepare schools for the progressive rollout of the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).
According to the Education CS Prof. George Magoha, his ministry has received Sh4.2 billion to reinforce infrastructure with more attention on supporting the CBC.
1.3 million pupils are expected to report to Grade 5 to begin their first term of the 2022 academic year in August.
Out of the Sh4.2 million disburses, the ministry intends to allocate Sh1.9 million to the purchase of desks while the rest will be used to construct new classrooms for primary and secondary schools.
Magoha was speaking in Kisumu on June 23, 2021, where he also eased the doubts that the government was finding it difficult to implement the new curriculum.

He assured the country that a 26-member presidential task force report shows it is the most assured method to attain a holistic model.
Magoha also confirmed that grade 5 pupils will find books and books and desks to use once the schools reopen.
Form four students will also embark on their first time of the academic year 2022, this August.
