Students at Bungoma High School are reported to have set their dormitory on fire early Friday morning razing it to the ground.

The fire is said to have broken out at around 5am as students took their morning classes and the cause is yet to be established.

No student was hurt in the inferno that consumed all the mattresses, uniforms and books belonging students housed in the particular dorm were destroyed.

An investigation has been launched into the dawn fire led by Bungoma County Commissioner Samuel Kimiti, County Director of Education Philip Chirchir and top county security officials.

The latest inferno now raises to seven the number of schools that have been set on fire in Bungoma County within a week.

Other that have been experienced similar arson attacks blamed on students include Kimilili Boys, Chesamisi High, Khasoko Boys, Ndivisi Boys, Mbakalo Boys and Bukembe Boys.
