A total of 26 teachers have lost their lives to the Covid-19 pandemic, this has been announced by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC).
TSC Chief Executive Nancy Macharia says the commission had lost 15 teachers in primary schools, 3 deputy head teachers and 8 head teachers to the pandemic across the country.
In that regard, she urged examiners who will travel to Nairobi to mark Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams next week to ensure they are vaccinated against Covid-19.
The TSC boss also announced that, so far, 92,246 teachers had been vaccinated against Coronavirus across Kenya in the government’s Astrazeneca vaccination programme.
She made the revelations during the release of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams at Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) headquarters in Nairobi.
