Renowned sports journalist Sean Cardovillis has announced his triumphant return to Capital FM after an astonishing 18-year absence.

Sean took to his Twitter account to announce his much-awaited return to local airwaves.

Fans of his expert analysis and captivating storytelling can now rejoice, as Cardovillis will be gracing the airwaves with his sports updates from Monday to Friday.

Not stopping there, he will also take the reins of the Saturday Music & Sports show, as the station undergoes a thrilling rebranding of its sports coverage.

"I'm BACK! After 18 years, it's great to return to Capital FM. I'll be presenting the sports updates Mondays to Fridays, and also presenting Saturday Music & Sports as we rebrand sports at the station. I start on Monday at Kenya's number one radio station," declared an elated Cardovillis.

During his hiatus, Sean fell sick after contracting pneumonia that threatened his life and forced him to make a medical appeal to the public for financial support after being hospitalised for a while.

It was also around that time when Covid-19 had ravaged the world.

“I was later to find out that you should wait a minimum of 28 days between testing negative for Covid AND taking the booster jab. This really was the start of a series of medical issues that led to me getting the second round of pneumonia that many doctors call 'Long Covid’,” Sean said.

The return of this legendary sports journalist is undoubtedly a cause for celebration among fans of Capital FM
