Kirinyaga Woman Representative Purity Wangui Ngirici’s husband, Andrew Peter Ngirici, on Sunday celebrated his 50th birthday in a colourful ceremony attended by close family members and friends.

The Woman Rep shared on her social media pages photos of the ceremony, including an adorable one in which Ngirici is feeding his beautiful politician wife a piece of cake as they smiled lovingly.

The couple stirred talk in the county after Wangui Ngirici conducted a multi-million shilling land and aerial campaigns in the 2017 Jubilee Party nominations ahead of the election in which she won.


Ngiciri, who has interests in real estate, property, mining among other businesses, bankrolled his wife’s political campaigns but his case is said to be a rags-to-riches story told by many locals.


Andrew Ngirici alias General is said to have dropped out of class 4 at Kirigo Primary School for unclear reasons and later washed cars and rode a donkey and ox cart to make ends meet at Kaitheri village, Kirinyaga County.


The Ngiricis now roll around the county and country in top-of-the-range cars and grab chopper rides as they will, even as the Woman Rep, a close ally of Deputy President William Ruto, seeks to replace Kirinyaga Governor Anne Waiguru come the 2022 general election.
