Controversial blogger Edgar Obare revealed on Sunday that his brother was kidnapped and tortured by unknown men.
According to Obare, via his back account BNN, his brother underwent the ordeal on Saturday.
He asked Kenyans to put him and his family in prayer, noting that he feared for his life as the new development proves people were after him.
He was left wondering why people would harm his brother who has nothing to do with his businesses. Obare further complained about the justice system in the country.
“I would like to ask you to pray for my family. Saturday night I was informed that they kidnapped my brother, revealed Obare. They kidnapped him, tortured him, trying to get information about my whereabouts, that’s one of the scariest thing. I am so sad that he had to go through that, and that some people in this country would go so low and go after my family. I hate this country, how they get away with everything,” Obare said.

The renowned tea master revealed that the kidnappers took his brother wanting to know his (Edgar’s) whereabouts.
He further recalled the events that had happened earlier before the kidnapping happened. Obare explained that in the past week, he sent his brother to retrieve a package for him at a local airport.
His sibling never got a chance to take the package as they had not completed its full payments and was told to get back soon.
According to Edgar, when his brother went the following day to pick up the package, he met some unknown men who claimed to be DCI detectives.
“When my brother went back to the customs office to pick the package, he found DCI agents waiting for him. He was then taken to a room and asked to surrender his phone. He was locked in a room for three to four hours. They kept asking him where I was,” he added.
Edgar said that he decided not to publicize the whole incident, as his brother did not want it to go public.
“I respected his wishes and I kept quiet and here we are, they’ve kidnapped him and tortured him. They are now doing whatever they want. It’s a sad day for my family and I,” he narrated.
He further disclosed that he would be reporting the incident to the authorities and hopes that justice would be served.
This comes weeks after he exposed Nairobi’s money laundering cartels where his list included names of politicians, celebrities, businessmen among other notable individuals.
