Tanzanian songstress Faustina Mfinanga popularly known as Nandy was a happy soul on Saturday, June 26 after receiving a call from President Samia Suluhu while proceeding to a festival in Dodoma, Tanzania.

An excited Nandy, while on stage, informed the attendees that they were about to speak with President Suluhu.

Suluhu, while on phone, informed the singer that she made the call to congratulate her for her efforts in promoting Tanzanian entertainment.

She also noted that she wished to have attended the festival but unfortunately she was unable, as she had to attend to other official duties.

“…Waambie Wananchi nimewakimbia kidogo nina Majukumu ya Kikazi Dar es Salaam lakini ningependa sana kuwepo hapo siku ya Leo. Nawaomba mfanye onyesho Nzuri an Salama, watu wafurahie, na mmalizi salama sana. Na leo nafurahi nikitimiza siku mia moja mko Dodoma kutumbuiza vijana, wambie vijana nawapenda sana” said Suluhu.

Nandy also told Suluhu that she and the revellers were celebrating her 100 days in office and that they wished her all the best as she works to improve the lives of Tanzanians.
