One of the new face KBC news anchors Shiksha Arora yesterday got robbed by hoodlums in busy Nairobi traffic.
The 5:20 pm incident happened in at the Globe roundabout flyover.
According to Shiksha’s account, one thug deliberately knocked one of her side mirrors and bent it, which prompted her to roll down her window to reposition it.
A second thug started banging on the passenger door while a third one slipped his hand through her window and unlocked the car, then got into the back seat and grabbed her purse.
The thug went ahead and reached for her neck and started strangling her, demanding her phone.

The alarmed anchor summoned the little strength and courage she had and hooted endlessly to draw the attention of other road users to come to her aid.
“As he was strangling my neck, I desperately gasped for air, I started hooting loudly to get some attention hoping somebody would help me. People started getting out of their cars and that’s when he let go and fled. He went with my purse but I am TRAUMATIZED that he attacked me.” Shiksha tweeted.
Luckily, people around seem to have realized what was going on and got out of their cars to her rescue.
Upon seeing the public responding to Shiksha’s alarm, the thugs fled with her purse and other items as she recovered from the shocking incident.
She confirmed she is okay, albeit traumatized by the incident, but advises the motorists not to roll down their windows whenever they are in that area.
“These thugs work in teams in broad daylight during peak traffic, don’t roll down your window no matter what when on globe roundabout. I got lucky, he didn’t manage to hurt me much despite strangling my neck and getting away with my purse. I am okay but traumatized.” She added.
