The family of popular disc jockey Felix Orinda, popularly known as DJ Evolve has refuted rumours circulating claiming that he had passed away.

DJ Evolve’s father, John Orinda, disclosed in a video that has been circulated on social media that the DJ was fine and was recuperating well at his brother’s home in Fedha estate, Nairobi.

“He is doing fine. The device that was put on his throat is still there, he is not talking clearly yet. I have been called by another journalist asking about the same. Whoever is spreading that information is not a good person,” Orinda said.

He added, “A person who can proclaim death on someone who is alive? What kind of a person is that? It is not good at all. I have called my son, who stays with him, and he is doing fine.”

His brother Andrew Orinda added that DJ Evolve was doing okay and was resting at home.

“God forbid! Those are very dangerous rumours and I can assure you that he is okay. He is even having his lunch,” he told K24 television on phone.

DJ Evolve has been undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nairobi since early January when he was allegedly shot by Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino at Kilimani’s high-end club, B-Club.

In an incident which was captured on CCTV inside the club, a man who was claimed to be the MP can be seen shooting the disc jockey following what seemed like a brief altercation.
