The burial of Churchill Show comedian Ben Maurice Onyango, popularly known as Othuol Othuol, could cost up to Sh1 million, if a message shared  by Comedians In Kenya Society Chairman Ken Waudo is anything to go by.

The body of Othuol, who passed away on Sunday while being treated at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) has already been transferred to Chiromo Mortuary ahead of his final burial rites.

According to planners of the funeral, the popular comedian, who also featured in the NTV programme Auntie Boss, is scheduled to be laid to rest at his ancestral home in Ndere, Alego in Siaya County on Sunday, October 25.

Othuol’s family members, colleagues in the comedy world and friends have been meeting at his home in Kitengela, Kajiado County and also at a Hotel in Nairobi to plan for his funeral.

Plans to conduct a fundraiser to offset his hospital bill and cater for his burial are underway.

But this comes amid reports circulating in the social media sphere to the effect that his comedy industry friends abandoned him as he lay at KNH appealing for financial aid for treatment.
