American rapper Black Rob, who was linked to P Diddy’s Bad Boy record label, has died at the age of 51.

Rob died a week after he was captured in a video recuperating after being hospitalized.

His death was revealed by former Bad Boy artist Mark Curry, in a video in which he was shedding tears and he had spent more than a week giving updates on the rapper’s health.

The exact cause of Black Rob’s death is yet to be disclosed.

“I don’t know where to begin this, but I thank everybody for the donations. Rob passed away about an hour ago,” he posted.

He had been suffering from health issues caused by high blood pressure for a number of years before he passed away.

The rapper behind the “Whoa” hit single, which was released in the year 2000, at one time revealed to Sway Calloway that he had suffered a stroke in 2015.

He joined Bad Boy label in mid-90s before he released Life Story, his platinum-selling debut album, in 1999 and the “Whoa!” single reached Top 10 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap charts.
