DJ Pierra Makena on Sunday turned 40 in style by holding a luxurious birthday party at a high-end hotel in Nairobi despite the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions.


Makena marked her big 40 at Emara Ole Sereni and invited only her close family members and friends, who ate, made merry and helped her celebrate entering the ‘Fourth Floor.’

The celebrity DJ, who is a mother of one, is reported to have funded the showy exclusive white and black birthday party herself with little help from her family and celebrity friends.


Among the celebrities who attended the bash are Starehe MP Charles “Jaguar” Njagua, MC Jesse, Singer Mimmo, rapper Gabu of P-Unit and infamous “private detective” Jane Mugo.


The party was held weeks after President Uhuru Kenyatta issued fresh directives barring public gatherings and limiting attendance of private gatherings, with bars and restaurants ordered closed in Nairobi, Machakos, Kajiado, Kiambu and Nakuru Counties indefinitely.
