KTN News Swahili anchor Fridah Mwaka on Sunday announced she was exiting to pursue other interests after working at the Mombasa Road-based media house for three years.

Mwaka shared the news of her departure with her fans during her last bulletin on Sunday, expressing her pleasure in working for the tv station under the Standard Group Limited.

The eloquent news anchor hinted to her fans that she would return to their screens but fell short of mentioning where she was heading next in her young media career.

“Safari Ni Hatua. Imekuwa Fahari Yangu Kutembea Nanyi Katika Safari Ya Matukio Ya Raha Karaha Ila Zaidi Ni Alama Ambazo Zimeganda Moyoni Mwangu Kwa Kunishabikia Na Kunifanya Bora Katika Tasnia Ya Uanahabari @ktnnews,” she posted on social media.

Mwaka added, “Muda Umewadia Wa Kuondoka Katika Kituo Cha @ktnnews. Niruhusini Niseme Kwaheri Kwa Sasa. Dunia Ni Duara Mola Atujalie Tukutane Tena Hivi Karibuni.”

Mwaka joined the station linked to the Moi family in 2018 to replace star Swahili anchor Mashirima Kapombe, who was poached by Citizen TV.

Before KTN, she hosted a show on the now non-operational Kubamba Radio and also appeared as a contestant in KTN’s The Presenter Show Season 2.
