Former KTN and K24 news anchor Betty Kyallo turned up at a public event organised by aspiring politician Alinur “Somali Guy” Mohammed at California in Kamukunji constituency on Sunday.  

The move by Betty has set tongues wagging coming month after rumours circulated on social media that she was dating the “Somali Guy” after parting ways with NTV Special Projects Editor Dennis Okari.

Alinur had organised a football tournament dubbed ‘Hon Alinur Super Cup’ in California estate in Nairobi as he sought support for his ambition to become the next Kamukunji Member of Parliament.

Alinur, who has attracted a huge following on social media since the rumors about her links with Betty, even hinted at the now Youtuber being the next Woman Representative for Nairobi.

“With the next NAIROBI COUNTY WOMAN REP BETTY KYALO and Hon. Samuel Masaki at the final day of Hon. Alinur Super cup at California Award, Kamukunji Constituency. Instilling a culture of sports that enables mental and physical health and nurtures a community of young footballers is among my priorities,” he wrote on his social media platforms.


Betty's appearance at the Kamukunji event and their cosiness during the football tournament is set to keep tongues wagging on the exact nature of their relationship and where it is headed.  

Will the incorporation of Betty Kyallo in his campaigns help boost his prospects in the 2022 general election as he seeks to unseat current Jubilee MP Yusuf Hassan? Only time will tell.
