Veteran Swahili news anchor Badi Muhsin is dead.

According to his family, Badi passed away after a short illness on Friday at the age of 67 while in Mombasa County.

The veteran journalist, who plied his Swahili trade at KBC for over 30 years collectively, made a comeback to the national broadcaster in February 2020 after a retirement break.

The legendary Swahili news anchor made his name at KBC and he is reported to have undergone a medical operation to remove stones from his kidneys.

Badi, who was born in Kitui, received the presidential Order of the Grand Warrior (OGW) award in 2011 for his long service in journalism courtesy of retired President Mwai Kibaki.

His fans and media colleagues took to social media on Friday evening to express shock at his passing and also to send their condolences to the legend.
