Celebrated Kenyan Musician Kevin Kioko alias Bahati has been accused of stealing his latest hit song dubbed Pete Yangu featuring Nadia Mukami from a Rwandese musician Butera Knowless.

The song by Butera was released five years ago and has garnered thousands of views.

The observation was made by a social media user identified as @its_shady_047 who keenly compared the two songs and noted that they had a striking resemblance.

He criticized Bahati’s newly released album dubbed Love Like This saying that it had no originality.

“Some will say ooh haters wana hate sijui nini, Look, you can’t be stealing tracks plus the melody the way they are then come here to tell us sh#t repeat, I expected a lot from Bahati. Views utapata tena mob sana lakini I’m disappointed sana na Bahati. We are coming with a Bing Bang, so far the only male musicians doing real music in Kenya are Otile Brown, Madini Classic, Willy Paul and Khaligraph Jones,” his bashed Bahati.

Bahati’s song featuring African pop star Nadia Mukami who sings the intro and the first verse has more than one hundred thousand views on Youtube.

Social media users got into a heated debate with many saying that the two songs had no similarities.

Bahati’s new album was however received well by fans and both local and international artists.

His album was also featured on Monday, June 14 in New York Times Square.
