Residents of Kamakis and its environs have received a major boost as Absa Bank Kenya officially opened a new branch in the area.

Strategically located at the Viashla Premier Business Centre, the branch is part of the bank’s effort to enhance financial inclusion and provide tailored banking solutions to individuals, traders, and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in this vibrant and rapidly growing community.

This move increases Absa’s branch network to 86 across 38 counties, underscoring the bank’s commitment to expanding its reach into underserved areas.

Speaking during the launch, Peter Mutua, Absa Bank’s Customer Network and Distribution Director, highlighted the significance of the Kamakis branch in meeting the evolving needs of customers.

“Our network strategy adapts and responds to current evolving consumer needs. We understand that our customers desire to be heard and require solutions that are tailored to their specific needs, which in turn support the advancement of their personal and business growth stories,” Mutua remarked.

He described Kamakis, popularly referred to as the "Nyama Choma Belt," as a dynamic and diverse business hub hosting establishments such as restaurants, supermarkets, petrol stations, hospitals, and general stores.

“This diverse commercial landscape presents an opportunity for us to provide relevant financial and non-financial partnerships, creating a meaningful impact in this town,” he added.

The launch is also part of Absa’s comprehensive strategy to expand its agency banking network, which has grown from 600 agents to 3,000 this year, with plans to enlist 17,000 agents in the next two years.

Mutua noted, “This comprehensive strategy will not only enhance access but also create more opportunities for customers to engage with the bank in a manner that suits their lifestyles.”

Mutua further highlighted the bank’s commitment to fostering community growth.

“Beyond the many businesses and the growing populations are real stories of dreams, ambition, and resilience. This is what fuels our passion at Absa, because to us, every story matters," Mutua stated.

With its strengthened physical and agency presence, Absa Bank Kenya aims to empower individuals and businesses while driving economic growth and inclusivity in communities like Kamakis and beyond.
