Safaricom brought early festive cheer to its Rift Valley dealers and M-PESA agents during a special engagement dinner in Eldoret.

The event, which formed part of the Sambaza Furaha campaign, celebrated over 60 dealers and agents for their pivotal role in connecting communities to Safaricom’s services and transforming lives over the past 24 years.

Samuel Kirubi, Safaricom's Rift Valley Regional Business Lead, highlighted the importance of these partnerships.

“This is a big moment for us as we bring early festive cheer to our customers by gifting them with various delights. Today, we are also celebrating our dealers in this region, who have played a significant role in our success as a company," Kirubi remarked.

They are key stakeholders and hold great importance to us. We have shared a meal together and exchanged experiences from our journey together."

The dinner spotlighted the stories of key contributors like Ashish Shah of Happy Go Limited, one of Safaricom’s longest-serving dealers.

Reflecting on his journey, Shah stated, “It has been an incredible experience working with Safaricom over all these years. I have been a dealer with Safaricom since the company first started, and it’s truly remarkable to witness its growth from a small telecommunications provider to a leading technology company. The most transformative development has been M-Pesa, which has positively impacted millions of Kenyans.”

For M-Pesa agent Beatrice Waititu, her journey with Safaricom since 2009 has been equally transformative.

“I started as an employee at an M-Pesa agency, but today I’m proud to own several M-Pesa agencies where I have created jobs and supported livelihoods. I thank Safaricom for this transformative idea, which has enabled many people to earn a living and transformed countless lives,” she said.

The Sambaza Furaha caravan, which started on 11th November, has been travelling through towns and markets across the Rift Valley, distributing goats, chickens, food hampers, airtime, and other gifts.

The campaign has touched areas including Narok, Mulot, Kericho, Nandi Hills, and Kapsabet.

This Friday, the caravan will visit Langas, Ziwa, and Soi before proceeding to Iten, Kabarnet, and Nakuru on Saturday.

The campaign will conclude on Sunday with stops in Mauche, Olenguruoni, and Salgaa. Beyond gifts, Safaricom is hosting workshops for youth, free medical camps in Kericho, and further dealer engagements.

By celebrating its partners and giving back to communities, Safaricom reinforces its commitment to uplifting lives and spreading joy this festive season.
