Homa Bay County’s economic landscape has received a significant boost with the opening of NCBA’s new branch, designed to bring vital banking services closer to the local community.

Located at Glory Plaza, the branch officially opened its doors in January 2024, and since then, it has attracted over 1,000 new accounts—a clear indication of the demand for accessible financial services in the area.

Tirus Mwithiga, NCBA’s Group Director of Retail Banking, shared the bank’s vision for the new branch.

“The launch of this branch reflects our commitment to bringing our services closer to our customers," Mwithiga stated.

"Our presence here is not only about financial growth but also about empowering individuals, small businesses, and organizations with the resources and financial knowledge they need to thrive.”

As Homa Bay’s population grows to approximately 1.2 million, the region has seen a marked increase in the prominence of sectors like retail trade, transport, agriculture, education, and the expanding blue economy.

With this growth in mind, NCBA has strategically positioned itself to support these industries with a broad range of tailored financial products, including specialized accounts, investment solutions, asset finance, insurance products, digital banking services, and SACCO business support.

In her remarks at the launch, Homa Bay County Governor Gladys Wanga welcomed the bank’s investment in the region, highlighting the potential for local businesses.

“We welcome financial institutions in Homa Bay as they are a bridge to our business community’s success," Wanga remarked.

"We believe that through the services offered by NCBA, the businesses in Homa Bay are positioned to succeed. Such kind of partners are right for our county because their focus is on propelling our people to greater heights.”

As NCBA’s footprint expands in Homa Bay, the bank remains committed to bridging untapped market opportunities, particularly in sectors critical to the county’s growth.

Future collaborations with local leaders and businesses are on the horizon, with the aim of furthering economic development across the region.

With the new branch up and running, customers are encouraged to visit and explore the wide range of financial services available, tailored to meet the unique needs of Homa Bay’s dynamic community.
