The High Court has appointed the Official Receiver to oversee the administration of the property of Multiple Hauliers (E.A) Limited, marking a significant development in the company’s ongoing insolvency case.

Effective from September 13, 2024, through December 2024, the company's affairs will be managed in accordance with the provisions of the Insolvency Act, 2015.

"Take Notice that the High Court appointed THE OFFICIAL RECEIVER as Administrator of the property of MULTIPLE HAULIERS (E.A) LIMITED (the Company) with effect from 13th Day of September 2024 to December 2024 pursuant to the provisions of the Insolvency Act, 2015," a notice read.

The appointment places the Official Receiver in full control of the company’s assets, acting as Administrator.

This move is bound by the terms and conditions laid out in the court order, and any actions regarding the company must comply with these stipulations.

"In accordance with Section 560 of the Insolvency Act and the said Order, no action can be taken against the Company without the consent of the Administrator or of the Court," the notice reads, underlining the company's legal protection during this period.

In a further directive, creditors with any claims against the company are required to submit their Proof of Debts (Form No. 5) via the designated online platform.

Failure to file these claims within the stipulated timeline could result in challenges during the resolution of the company’s financial matters.

The Official Receiver's role is defined by the court as one without personal liability.

“The Official Receiver, as Administrator, acts on behalf of the company without any personal liability,” the statement clarified.

The appointment comes at a critical time for Multiple Hauliers (E.A) Limited as it grapples with its financial difficulties.

The company, one of the region’s significant logistics players, is expected to remain under administration until the close of the year as the insolvency process unfolds.

Dated October 18, 2024, the notice formally confirms the transition of authority to the Official Receiver for the next phase of the company’s restructuring and management.
