Nairobi County is on November 4-8, 2024, scheduled to host the 8th edition of the Kenya Association of Records Managers and Archivists (KARMA) annual conference.
The 2024 meet themed “From Digitalization to Digital Transformation,” is set to paint the future of Records and Archives Management (RAM) as more organisations embrace digital.
Set up in 2010, KARMA has pushed for the development of professionals in the records and archives management industry through education, research, and collaborative partnerships.
The forum seeks to offer attendees with a platform to explore the latest trends in digital transformation, foster collaboration across sectors, and enhance best practices in RAM.
“Digital transformation is no longer a luxury. It is a necessity for organisations looking to remain competitive in today’s fast-paced business environment,” said KARMA Chairman Dr Cleophas Ambira.
He added: “Effective records and archives management is the backbone of every successful business. It ensures operational efficiency, enhances decision-making, and ultimately protects a company’s most valuable asset — its information.”
The event will aid steer firms in digitizing documents and creating fully digital workflows that harness the power of emerging technologies like AI, blockchain, and advanced analytics.
The five-day event will highlight the role of leadership in digital transformation, while tackling cybersecurity, data protection, and system integration and other key challenges.
Attendees will also gain a deep understanding of how records management is a strategic asset for organizational growth, compliance, and efficiency added to peer networking.
The 2024 KARMA Conference is eyeing to attract at least 400 attendees, among them professionals from RAM, ICT, policy makers, and other sectors responsible for managing records.
