Over 400 entrepreneurs and business leaders from across Africa and beyond converged in Naivasha for the highly anticipated BNI Convention, a gathering that has become a cornerstone for business networking and growth in the region.

Hosted by BNI Kenya, the convention highlighted the importance of networking, collaboration, and innovation in driving the future of African entrepreneurship.

The BNI (Business Network International) is globally recognised as the largest business networking and referral organisation, dedicated to providing a structured environment where professionals can enhance their business prospects through word-of-mouth marketing.

The event in Naivasha reinforced BNI's mission by offering a platform where participants could engage in meaningful connections and exchange ideas to propel their enterprises forward.

Elizaphan Muraguri, BNI National Director for Kenya, underlined the significance of such gatherings in today’s interconnected world.

“In today’s interconnected world, the strength of our businesses lies in the strength of our networks. This convention has demonstrated that by leveraging the power of relationships, we can unlock new opportunities, drive innovation, and build resilient enterprises that transcend borders,” he stated, underscoring the convention’s role in fostering a resilient business community across Africa.

Muraguri further emphasised the potential unlocked through collaborative efforts, noting, “This convention has showcased the power of collaboration and the incredible potential within our network. By coming together, we are not just building businesses, but we are also shaping the future of African entrepreneurship.”

The convention also featured Chief Guest Annastacia Kimtai, Managing Director of KCB Kenya, who articulated the vital role that financial institutions play in supporting business growth across the continent.

Kimtai remarked, “As businesses across the continent continue to seek growth and expansion, financial institutions play a critical role in supporting these endeavours. As banks, we are deeply committed to supporting African businesses in their growth journeys. Our goal is to empower enterprises across the continent by providing the financial tools and resources they need to thrive.”

Kimtai praised the BNI Convention as a crucial forum for fostering collaboration and cross-border networking, which are essential in creating a robust and integrated market that will drive sustainable economic development across Africa.

Diana Nansiima, BNI National Director for Uganda, echoed the sentiments of her fellow leaders, focusing on the transformative power of networking in facilitating economic growth across the continent.

"Networking is the catalyst for economic growth and collaboration across Africa. Through the connections made here today, we are not only expanding our individual businesses but also contributing to the larger vision of a more integrated and prosperous African market," Nansiima commented, reflecting on the broader impact of the convention.

She added, “The energy and innovation we’ve witnessed here today reaffirm the strength of the BNI community in Africa. The knowledge shared and the relationships built will undoubtedly lead to significant growth and opportunities for all involved.”

The event featured an array of workshops, keynote speeches, and networking sessions, all designed to equip the participants with the essential tools and insights necessary to thrive in the ever-evolving business landscape.

As the day unfolded, it became evident that the connections made and the ideas exchanged would leave a lasting impact on the business community, driving growth and innovation across the continent.
