In a significant move to enhance its international presence, national carrier Kenya Airways has officially announced the resumption of flights to Bangkok, Thailand, effective Tuesday.

The national carrier will operate five times per week on this route, marking a strategic step in its efforts to rebound from the challenges posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

The decision to reintroduce flights to Bangkok, says Kenya Airways, is aligned with its commitment to proactively expand its international routes and provide passengers with diverse and enriching travel experiences.

Julius Thairu, Chief Commercial and Customer Officer at Kenya Airways, expressed his enthusiasm for this milestone.

"Today marks a moment of pride and readiness as we reintroduce our flights to Bangkok, Thailand. This initiative underscores our proactive approach in expanding international routes, urging our passengers to embrace new and enriching travel experiences," remarked Thairu.

Highlighting the significance of Bangkok as a destination, Thairu emphasized the city's multifaceted appeal.

"Beyond its status as Thailand’s capital and most populous city, boasting a population of over 10 million, Bangkok is a vibrant hub offering a wide range of tourist, art, and cultural attractions for our esteemed customers," he added.

The resumption of flights to Bangkok not only underscores Kenya Airways' resilience but also expands its global network to 42 destinations.

This move will play a major role in reconnecting people and fostering economic and cultural exchanges across borders.

The route to Bangkok was temporarily suspended in 2020 amid the unprecedented challenges posed by the global Covid-19 pandemic.

Kenya Airways' decision to resume operations on this route reflects the gradual recovery and renewed confidence in international travel.

As the airline recommences its flights to Bangkok, it aims to contribute to the revival of the aviation industry and serve the growing demand for travel to and from this dynamic Asian metropolis.

The resumption of this key route is expected to strengthen bilateral ties and facilitate increased connectivity between Kenya and Thailand.
