Airtel Money, Kenya's fastest-growing mobile money service provider, has partnered with Kenya Power (KPLC) to offer Kenyans the opportunity to pay their electricity bills with zero transaction fees through the Airtel Money platform.
In an effort to alleviate the financial burden faced by Kenyans during these challenging economic times, Airtel Money Managing Director, Anne-Kinuthia Otieno, announced the initiative, which will benefit both postpaid and prepaid Kenya Power customers for the next six months.
"We are now glad to offer Kenyans this solution where they will enjoy zero transaction cost for the next six months when they make their electricity payments. The cost saving on the charge per transaction will enable customers to utilize their money for other purchases."
To pay their electricity bills through Airtel Money, Airtel customers in Kenya can follow simple steps: dial the USSD code *334#, choose Airtel Paybill, and then select KPLC.

Airtel Money aims to forge additional partnerships with strategic stakeholders to offer pocket-friendly and convenient mobile money services to Kenyans.
The company's unique benefits include sending money between Airtel-to-Airtel networks at no charge, receiving 25 per cent extra airtime or data with purchases made through Airtel Money, and saving up to 40 per cent on withdrawal charges at any Airtel Money agent.
