The building housing the ruling Jubilee Party headquarters has been slated for auction after the owner defaulted on loan payments.

This was revealed in an advert appearing in a local daily on Monday with the building located at the Emani Business Centre in Pangani along Thika Superhighway now facing the hammer.

According to the advertisement by Garam Investment Auctioneers, the auction will take place on September 13, 2022, at 11:00 am at the firm’s offices located in Westlands.

“All that parcel of land known as L. R. NO. 209/1530 (IR 95209) EMANI BUSINESS CENTER, ALONG THIKA ROAD, PANGANI AREA, NAIROBI COUNTY registered in the name of FARMERS INDUSTRY LIMITED do PO Box 14202-00100 Nairobi, git FLORENCE WAIRIMU MBUGUA co P. O. Box 14851-00800 Nairobi and/or 4581 00800 Nairobi, Kenya,” the advertisement read.


However, interested bidders will be required to deposit Sh5 million before being allowed to bid, according to the advertisement.

“That bidders will be required to produce a bidding deposit of Kshs 5 million by way of cash or bankers cheque before being allowed to bid,” the ad noted.

The premise was Jubilee Party’s home during the 2017 election and, according to the party’s Deputy Secretary Caleb Kositany, the party paid about Sh90 million annually in rent.
