Terry Ramadhani, a Professional Management Services and Corporate Re-engineering expert, has officially taken over as the new Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) Chief Executive Officer.

Ramadhani assumed office on Monday after she was appointed by the KEMSA Board of Directors, and now replaces John Kabuchi, who has been the CEO in acting capacity.

Speaking after a familiarisation tour of KEMSA’s Commercial Street offices, she promised her leadership style will be consultative and will foster partnerships with all stakeholders.

Ramadhani lauded KEMSA staff and operating stakeholders for being committed to transforming the agency into an effective Health Products and Technologies supply agency.

“I am conscious of the immense duty and responsibility ahead. I intend to accelerate the pace of reforms through a consultative, results-focused management approach with all our stakeholders from staff, suppliers, donor partners and clients,” Ramadhani said.

On his part, Kabuchi confirmed that KEMSA had made positive reform steps to ensure it is more effective and boasts of reduced order turnaround time (TAT) from 46 days in February to 14 days at the end of April and seeks to shorten it further.

“In Ms Ramadhani, the KEMSA Board is confident that the organisational transformation agenda will be sustained and professionally executed. The Board is united in its resolve to facilitate the proper positioning of KEMSA as an effective Health Products and Technologies (HPTs) supply chain provider in the local public health space,” said KEMSA board Chairperson Mary Mwadime while announcing Ramadhani’s appointment last week.
