Kenya’s Junior Golf Foundation (JGF) has confirmed the four rising stars who will carry the national flag at the first-ever Africa Junior Region IV Championship, to be held at Tamarina Golf Club in Mauritius from August 26, 2025, to August 28, 2025.
The players named to the travelling team are Kanana Muthomi, Navya Nagda, Parv Kavia, and Maahir Patel.
Their inclusion follows strong showings in the 2024/2025 National Junior Provisional Squad, a programme designed to identify the country’s most promising golfers.
This new championship, organised under the Africa Golf Confederation, is the first regional contest dedicated exclusively to junior golfers from Region IV countries.
Mauritius, Madagascar, Tanzania, Uganda, Réunion, and Kenya will all be represented in the three-day event.

The format is intended not only to provide competitive exposure but also to open doors for friendships and future opportunities on larger international stages.
Speaking after unveiling the team, JGF President Vincent Mukiri underlined the significance of the event.
“This championship is historic because it provides our juniors with a rare chance to compete against their peers on an international stage while building camaraderie and representing the country with pride. We believe this platform will inspire them to reach even greater heights and prepare them for future professional careers in golf.”
The choice of Tamarina Golf Club adds weight to the occasion. Known for its sweeping coastal views and challenging design, the course will push participants both technically and mentally, offering them a taste of conditions seen in elite global tournaments.
The Foundation also extended appreciation to parents, sponsors, and partners whose backing has made it possible for young players to train and compete at this level. According to JGF, such support is essential for building a sustainable pipeline of junior golfers who can compete beyond Kenya’s borders.
As the four juniors prepare to step onto the fairways of Mauritius, they do so with the backing of a nation eager to see them succeed. Their journey to the championship signals Kenya’s broader ambition to cement its place in the growth of African golf.
