The operator of the Nairobi Expressway has rejected claims circulating on social media suggesting that the busy road would be shut down because of political processions.

According to MOJA Expressway Company, the messages being spread online are fabricated.

In its statement, the firm clarified, “Please note that the poster making rounds on social media suggesting the closure of the Nairobi Expressway CBD access is fake.”

The company further explained that it has no link to such announcements.

“MOJA Expressway Company is not affiliated to neither, does it authorise the closure of the Nairobi Expressway due to political processions,” the statement read.

To reassure motorists, the operator emphasised that traffic was flowing normally.

“The Nairobi Expressway is fully operational. Beware of false and misleading information.”

MOJA Expressway stressed that any official communication regarding road access is issued directly through its verified social media channels.

“The Nairobi Expressway remains a public road and all planned road closure notices are shared only on the official MOJA Expressway Company social media platforms with appropriate safety measures put in place to safeguard our motorists.”

The operator urged Kenyans not to be misled by unverified posters.

“We urge the general public to refrain from circulating false information and reach out to our service hotline for inquiries.”

This clarification comes as the expressway, which links Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to Westlands, continues to serve thousands of commuters daily, underscoring the need for verified information when it comes to road usage.
