Visa has appointed John Njoroge as the new Country Manager and Senior Business Development Leader for Kenya, South Sudan, and Somalia.
In this new position, Njoroge will spearhead Visa’s strategic growth, improve client relationships, and oversee the expansion of digital payment solutions in the three markets.
He boasts of vast experience and expertise in the digital payments sector, financial technology, strategic partnerships, as well as innovative banking solutions.
Njoroge is expected to enhance Visa’s executive relationships to increase the brand’s strategic value, identify growth opportunities, and increase both client and Visa revenues.
Visa VP and General Manager for East Africa Chad Pollock said the firm is looking forward to tapping Njoroge’s expertise to drive financial inclusion and digital commerce in Kenya, South Sudan, and Somalia.

He is also set to direct Visa’s business objectives and lead key projects, including introducing new products and services to hasten adoption of digital payments and financial inclusion.

Njoroge has more than 20 years of experience in the banking and fintech sectors and recently served as the Regional Managing Director for East Africa at Network International.
During his stint as the chairperson of the Kenya Credit & Debit Cards Association (KCDCA), which falls under Kenya Bankers Association (KBA), he led the adoption of NFC, migration from magnetic stripe cards to Chip & PIN cards, and best practice card payment processes.
