The Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) has issued a statement regarding the current fuel shortage within the country.

KPC issued the statement on Saturday confirming the company has sufficient fuel stocks in all their depots.

“Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) confirms that there are sufficient fuel stocks in all their depots across the country,” KPC's statement read.

The company further assured Kenyans that there are ample stocks of petroleum products in their system in the entire country to meet the demand.

According to KPC Managing Director Macharia Irungu, the company has enough global stock to serve the region.

"Our global stock holding is adequate to serve the region, with more ships in Mombasa queued for discharge," Irungu said.

Irungu also assured Kenyans that KPC will continue to fulfil its mandate of consistently delivering safe and quality petroleum products to its customers in the country and the regional markets.

Motorists across the country have experienced fuel shortages without a proper explanation for the cause of the situation.
