Tuskys’ troubles seem to be landing hard like a stubborn hurricane with the supermarket chain now at risk of losing three more of its outlets to auctioneers.

Landlords have come knocking and are seeking to dispose of the retail chains property in a bd to recover rent arrears running into millions of shillings.

Garam Investment Auctioneers published a notice in the daily newspapers on Wednesday and listed three of Tuskys’ retail stores for public auction from October 21 - 23.

The three Tuskys outlets facing the auctioneer’s hammer are the North Airport Road’s Kencor Petrol Station, Tuskys Embakasi and Tuskys Komarock Mall, which are all located in Nairobi.

Also facing the auctioneer’s hammer, courtesy of Auckland Agencies Auctioneers, is movable properties inside the Dale Tuskys at Juja City Mall.

Tuskys employees have also been holding demonstrations across the country over what they have termed as unjust termination as they demand their dues running back months.

Tusker Mattress Ltd, which operates the cash-strapped Tuskys supermarket chain, in August dismissed tens of workers as it shut four branches across the country.

Tuskys on Tuesday hired former Uchumi head of finance Chadwick Okumu to replace Daniel Ndirangu as chief financial officer hoping he will manage to rescue the brand from the abyss.
