Oppo is officially launching its Reno 10 series lineup of smartphones in Kenya on Tuesday with the Oppo Reno Series devices well known for their camera proficiency.

During the event in Nairobi, Oppo unveiled the Oppo Reno 10 5G and Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G, both packing quite some astounding specifications as successors to the Oppo Reno 8T.

I still have the Reno8 T 5G, which has a sleek design with a curved display and back, which Oppo has retained in the new Reno 10 5G series, which I received a week to the unveiling.

The device is quite magnificent and a head-turner whenever I go and the one I have is the Ice Blue colour option, given blue is my favourite colour hence it was a natural pick for me.

Oppo Reno 10 5G comes in the Ice Blue and Silvery Grey colour options with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, and the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5g comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The recommended retail price in Kenya for the newly unveiled Oppo Reno 10 5G is Sh56,999 and Sh69,999 for the Oppo Reno 10 Pro 5G.

The mobile phone I am unboxing and giving you my initial impressions on is the standard Oppo Reno 10 5G. The OPPO Reno10 Pro 5G comes packed with marginally better specs.

At first glance, the Oppo Reno 10 5G’s glossy chrome rails give you a classy finish that blends in so elegantly with the curved edge and back panel that accords the device pure finesse.

The volume and power key buttons are situated on the right, while the SIM slot, microphone, USB Type-C charging port and the speaker grille are located at the bottom of the new device.

The matte finish on the device’s back panel switches colour tinges when viewed from varied angles even as the camera set up protrudes from the upper left side of the back.

The triple-camera module on Oppo Reno 10 5G is almost similar to that on the Reno 8T 5G and includes a 64MP primary camera, a 32MP telephoto camera with Sony IMX709 sensor, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera.

The mobile device has a 6.7-inch curved-edge AMOLED display and a 120Hz refresh rate hence the viewing experience is excellent, especially for video content.

The in-display fingerprint sensor has been retained even as the phone comes with a large 5,000mAh battery on a thin body hence the charge lasts longer than on the Reno 8T 5G.

Overall, the Oppo Reno 10 5G is opulent and feels good to hold and floss with where you need to make a statement, added to a large battery, fast charging and exceptional display.

The device’s Sh56,999 RRP in Kenya will also play a key role in how it will be received by phone aficionados, chiefly content creators and those keen on making fashion statements.

What has impressed me in my initial interaction with the Oppo Reno10 5G ahead of the launch was its front and back cameras that take some really impressive photos and videos.
