"Samsung is committed to delivering a comprehensive health experience and empowering users to achieve their wellness goals. We believe this starts with getting a good night’s sleep, which is more important now than ever," Pak said.

"The new One UI 5 Watch continues our ongoing commitment to help people improve the quality of their sleep, so they can start each day fully recharged and ready for the day."

The Sleep Insights UI displays the user’s sleep score, sleep phases, snoring hours, and blood oxygen levels, allowing for a clearer snapshot of the prior night’s rest.

Sleep Coaching tailored around eight different sleep types is also fully accessible directly on Galaxy Watch and paired phones, making it more convenient for users to track their habits.

Samsung has also made it easier to connect Galaxy Watch to a wide range of devices, with SmartThings allowing users to switch off their connected devices once the Galaxy Watch detects that they have fallen asleep.

The new One UI 5 Watch builds on this feature by using an infrared sensor rather than a green LED light to further minimize distractions.

A Smarter Fitness Partner

The updated software also offers personalized heart rate zone analysis, enabling users to set their own goals based on their individual physical capabilities, as well as expanded route workout options for outdoor activity enthusiasts with Galaxy Watch Pro.
