Samsung Electronics on Wednesday announced the global availability of its industry-leading Galaxy S23 smartphones after posting impressive preorder results.

The Galaxy S23 preorders for this year have surpassed those of the Galaxy S22 series, with 60 per cent of consumers settling for the most premium Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The preorders for the Galaxy S22 Series for last year had been greatly successful and the numbers had been more than double that of the Galaxy S21 series within the first week.

“The great momentum we’re witnessing speaks to customers’ excitement about products that push the envelope and give them the freedom to express themselves creatively,” said Samsung Electronics President and Head of Mobile Experience Business TM Roh.

He added, “This year’s preorder numbers echo our customers’ strong trust in our brand and demonstrate how our commitment to ground-breaking innovation and sustainability continues to resonate with consumers.”

Led by Galaxy S23 Ultra with its new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor and iconic embedded S Pen, the Galaxy S23 series also features Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 for a premium phone experience.

Galaxy S23 series features epic cameras giving users more freedom for creativity, with the world’s fastest mobile graphics on the Snapdragon® 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy.

The series has a striking design that advances Samsung’s pledge on sustainability with more components made using recycled materials than in any other Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

“As a business, we are looking to increase inclusivity and affordability for our consumers so that they can acquire the Galaxy S23 Ultra, S23+ and S23 devices and one of the ways we are doing this is through strategic partnerships with finance partners,” said Samsung Director of Mobile Experience East Africa Charles Kimari.

He added, “We already have a working agreement with KCB and Safaricom as the first two official device financing partners and are working on getting more partners on board to allow more Kenyans to acquire our devices at a pace that works for them. These strategic partnerships are what we believe will shape the device acquisition landscape in Kenya.”

Samsung Galaxy S23 series also unlocks the next level of mobile security with Samsung Message Guard, which preemptively protects against zero-click exploit attacks.

Zero-click exploit attacks are a new kind of cyberattack where a mobile device can be compromised by just receiving an image – even without the user’s interaction.

Samsung Message Guard acts as a virtual quarantine that traps harmful images and ensures the user receives safe images.

From February 17, 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23+, and Galaxy S23 will be available via carriers and retailers, and on samsung.com, in four nature-inspired matte hues: Phantom Black, Cream, Green, and Lavender.

The devices are also available in a variety of unique, online exclusive colors, only available at Samsung.com: The Galaxy S23 Ultra is available in Graphite, Lime, Sky Blue, and Red. The Galaxy S23 and S23+ feature two online exclusive colors, Graphite and Lime.

Samsung is also unveiling a striking 3D billboard campaign to celebrate the launch of the Galaxy S23 series that highlights the design of the series inspired by the planet, with striking visuals.

The campaign will be rolled out in other cities around the world in the coming weeks after initially kicking-off in Seoul, South Korea.
