Sony has officially debuted its new ULT Power Sound series in Kenya, unveiling a fresh range of audio products engineered to deliver what the company calls an "unparalleled bass experience" for music lovers and party enthusiasts.
The series, which includes powerful speakers and a dedicated karaoke microphone, is set to hit the shelves of authorised Sony retailers across Kenya from July 15, 2025, with prices ranging between Sh55,000 and Sh135,000.
At the centre of the ULT series is an intense focus on bass response.
According to Sony, each product in the lineup features a dedicated ULT button that activates two specially tuned sound profiles.
Pressing the ULT button gives users access to two bass profiles – ULT 1 for deeper, lower frequency bass and ULT 2 for powerful, punchy bass.

Speaking during the launch, Jobin Joejoe explained Sony’s enthusiasm for the Kenyan market and what the ULT series means for local consumers.
“We are thrilled to introduce the ULT series to Kenya, a market with a vibrant and dynamic music culture," Joejoe remarked.
"This new lineup embodies our dedication to pushing the boundaries of audio innovation, providing an immersive and visceral sound experience that truly resonates with our customers.
The series includes a variety of speaker models designed to suit different lifestyles.
The lineup caters to a wide range of audio needs.
ULT Tower 9 and ULT Tower 9AC
Leading the charge is the ULT Tower 9 and its sibling, the ULT Tower 9 AC.
These party speakers are built for high sound pressure, long battery life, and feature extras like guitar and karaoke inputs.
The ULT Tower 9 offers up to 25 hours of battery life and includes USB charging for mobile devices.
Meanwhile, the AC version, which plugs directly into power, promises even greater audio output.
ULT Field 5
For those preferring portable options, Sony has introduced the ULT Field 5, built around an X-Balanced Speaker Unit that delivers crisp highs and punchy lows with the help of an integrated tweeter and optimised passive radiators.
ULT Field 3
The smaller ULT Field 3 offers similar bass-forward sound in a compact, shockproof body made to endure daily use.
ULT MIC 1
For karaoke lovers and vocalists, the series includes the ULT MIC 1, tailored to deliver “crystal-clear vocals” and designed to integrate smoothly with the rest of the ULT Power Sound lineup.
Highlighting the commercial and regional significance of the release, Haresh Gokaldas outlined Sony’s long-term outlook for East Africa.
“This strategic launch in Kenya underscores Sony’s long-term commitment to the East African market and we anticipate this ULT series will contribute to the local economy through increased retail activity and potential for new distribution partnerships with various dealers," Gokaldas stated.
"Our investment in this market reflects our confidence in its future and our dedication to providing high-quality products that meet evolving consumer demands.”
Sony also pointed to its environmental considerations, particularly in the packaging of select models.
“No plastics used in the packaging material for ULT Field 5, ULT Field 3 and ULT Mic 1.”
This, the company noted, reflects its ongoing efforts to reduce environmental impact.
With the launch imminent, Sony’s new ULT series promises to bring rich, bass-heavy sound to homes, road trips, and gatherings throughout Kenya—just in time for a music-filled July.
