Kenya's largest mobile service provider, Safaricom, has announced the unavailability of a few of its services on Saturday July 24, 2021 from 10pm to 8am on Sunday July 25, 2021.

Safaricom said in a notice that the services will be unavailable due to an upgrade of their system to increase their capacity of growing customers and support innovations to customer needs

The services that will not be available during the upgrade include; balance inquiry, Bonga Points services, Okoa Jahazi, Tunukiwa, product purchases, Postpaid payment and Home Fibre payment. 

Call services, data services, M-PESA services, and SMS and all other services will remain available as usual during the upgrade period.

Safaricom further said they planned the timing of the upgrade exercise to minimize inconvenience to their customers.

Safaricom apologised for any inconveniences the upgrade exercise may cause and thanked their customers for continued support.
