Uganda’s Joshua Cheptegei has broken Ethiopian Kenenisa Bekele's 15-year-old World Record in the mens's 10,000M race.
Cheptegei managed to lower Bekele’s record by 6 seconds, in a fantastic race that has seen him now hold both the 5,000M and 10,000M World Records.
Bekele's a decade a half men’s 10,000M World Record stood at 26:17:53.

In the women’s field, Ethiopian long-distance runner Letesenbet Gidey ran 14:06.65 to also break the women's World Record in the 5,000M race.
Before her hostile takeover, the current time of 14:11:15 was held by Gidey’s countrywoman, three-time Olympic champion Tirunesh Dibaba.
