Africa’s 100m sprint record holder Ferdinand Omanyala on Saturday night continued with his winning streak by bringing home his second of three 60m indoor races in Paris, France.

Omanyala finished the 60m at the Accor Arena race in 6.56secs, which was a hundredth of a second off his national record that he had set only on Wednesday last week.

The Kenyan sprint sensation for the second time in a row beat Ivorian Arthur Cisse to second place by clocking 6.57secs at the much-anticipated and exciting race in Paris.

“It was another great performance and I am delighted. The times are really fast and I am happy with what I am doing. It shows that my season has started off well,” said Omanyala.

The Kenyan Commonwealth Games champion is now preparing for his final race in France and will travel to Lievin for his final indoor race on Wednesday before returning to Kenya.

While in Nairobi, the Africa 100metres champion is set to shift his focus to the Athletics Kenya meets in the weekend and will take part in the Nairobi leg on February 24, 2023.

On Wednesday, Omanyala shattered his own 60m indoor national record by 0.2 seconds at the Mondeville Meeting in France by clocking 6.55 seconds in the men’s 60m final.
