Inter Milan midfielder Christian Eriksen has been discharged from the hospital after he was successful fit a heart-starting device.

The Denmark midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest while in the field on Saturday, June 12 during Denmark’s Euro 2020 opening game against Finland.

A medical team was alerted real quick and got into the pitch and administered CPR before the player was rushed to hospital.

It is now reported that he is back at home with his family but still fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD).

He is allowed to interact with his family and friends after he being discharged.

“Christian Eriksen has been through a successful operation and was today discharged from Rigshospitalet.”

“Today he also visited the national team in Helsinger and from there he will go home and spend time with his family.”

Eriksen also thanked and appreciated everyone who supported him so much during the few days.

The former Tottenham Hotspurs player further wished his Denmark’s teammates all the best in their remaining matches.

“Thank you for the massive number of greetings, it has been incredible to see and feel,” Eriksen, who plays his club football at Italian champions Inter Milan, said in a statement. He said in part.

“The operation went well and I am doing well under the circumstances. It was really great to see the guys again after the fantastic game they played last night. No need to say that I will be cheering on them on Monday against Russia.” He concluded.
