Los Angeles Lakers fought their way brilliantly to beat Miami Heat in the NBA Finals on Sunday, a win dedicated to the late Lakers’ icon Kobe Bryant.

LA Lakers dedicated their nba Finals triumph to Bryant, one of basketball’s all-time greats, who died in a chopper crash in January.

His sudden demise that left the basketball fraternity in shock and tears for days motivated the team to fights its way to the top during a tough year.

Bryant, who won five championships in 20 seasons with the Lakers, died alongside his daughter Gianna, 13, and seven others who were in the chopper.

“He was a big brother to all of us and we did this for him,” said Anthony Davis after the Game Six win against the brave fighters, Heat.

Lakers fans in the streets of LA chanted “Kobe! Kobe!” on the streets after the dramatic win by the team.  

The king himself, LeBron James, was named the NBA Finals’ Most Valuable Player (MVP) after leading the team to their 17th NBA championship by beating Heat 106-93 in Game 6 action.


An emotional Lakers Team President Jeanie Buss celebrated the team’s first NBA Finals win since 2010 after Bryant’s exit with nostalgia.

“To Lakers nation, we have been through a heartbreaking tragedy with the loss of our beloved Kobe Bryant and Gianna,” Buss said.

The Sunday win made LeBron the first player in NBA history to win a Finals MVP with three different franchises; Cleveland Cavaliers, LA Lakers and Miami Heat.
