The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the reopening of the Nairobi Southern Bypass section from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange.

This follows a temporary closure that commenced on December 24, 2024 and concluded on Sunday midnight.

"The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) wishes to inform the public that the section of Nairobi Southern Bypass from Ole Sereni Interchange to Ngong Road Interchange has been opened to traffic," KeNHA announced.

The closure was implemented to facilitate the rehabilitation of expansion joints across all the bridges along this section and to reconstruct the concrete pavement at the Virtual Weighbridge.

During this period, all traffic was diverted through Mombasa Road Highway, Lang'ata Road, and Ngong Road as alternative routes.

KeNHA expressed appreciation for the public's patience during the closure, stating, "The Authority appreciates your patience during the temporary closure for essential bridge and pavement repairs."

With the completion of these essential repairs, the Nairobi Southern Bypass is now fully operational, ensuring improved safety and efficiency for motorists.
