Rockey Africa Limited has partnered with charity organisation Jewell Souls Foundation to provide essential food supplies to more than 80 orphans and disadvantaged children in Kenya.

The partnership, valued at Sh200,000, spans four months and aims to ensure that these young individuals are well-nourished and motivated to continue their education.

The collaboration, formalised through a memorandum of understanding (MOU), will provide the children with regular, nutritious meals, addressing the critical issue of child hunger that often hampers school attendance and performance.

This initiative is expected to create a more supportive and healthy learning environment for the children, fostering better academic outcomes.

At the handover ceremony, Carol Ndung’u, the Director of Jewell Souls Foundation, highlighted the importance of the initiative, stating, “When we say food is a basic need, most people just hear it in passing. For these children, however, this food is the motivation behind them staying focused in school and the only thing keeping them away from the streets fending for themselves.”

In addition to food supplies, Rockey Africa extended its generosity to Laurence Amuli, a young technical and vocational education and training (TVET) student.

Laurence, who dreams of becoming an electrician, received electronic equipment to aid in his studies. Despite financial challenges cutting short his formal education after primary school, Laurence has shown remarkable talent and ingenuity. He showcased a Bluetooth speaker he crafted from scratch during the initial visit, demonstrating his potential and passion for technology.

Rockey Africa’s CEO, Robert Kamau Wachira, underscored the company's commitment to social responsibility, stating, “Our purpose at Rockey Africa is to change one life at a time and hope for a chain reaction. We are committed to ensuring that everyone has an equal chance at life regardless of their background or past. Our partnership with Jewell Souls today is a testament to that commitment, ensuring we do not deny our children a fair chance at life by missing school because of food.”

This partnership represents a significant effort to uplift the community, providing both immediate nutritional support and long-term educational opportunities.

Rockey Africa Limited and Jewell Souls Foundation are dedicated to making a lasting, positive impact, ensuring that every child can thrive academically and personally.
