In a surprise move that has sent ripples through Kenya's political landscape, President William Ruto has reshuffled his Cabinet nominees, appointing Soipan Tuya to the critical Defence portfolio and reassigning Aden Duale to head the Ministry of Environment.

Tuya on the other hand took to social media to express her gratitude for the president for considering her for the Defence position and pledged to do her best to serve Kenyans.

"Eternally grateful to God for His favor! I thank HE President William Ruto for nominating me to serve as Cabinet Secretary of Defence. Upon confirmation, I will give it my all, in service to the people of Kenya," Tuya wrote.
