Kenya Railways announced the much-anticipated return of commuter train services on select routes, effective Tuesday.

Passengers in Embakasi Village, Lukenya, Syokimau, and those utilizing the SGR Link train can rejoice as their daily commutes are set to get a boost in efficiency.

We are pleased to inform the public that commuter train services will resume Tomorrow, Tuesday, 7th of May 2024, on the following routes: Embakasi Village, Lukenya, The SGR Link train, Syokimau," the company announced

The resumption comes after a temporary suspension due to heavy rainfall impacting the railway lines.

While these four routes are operational, services for Limuru and Ruiru remain unavailable as repairs continue to ensure passenger safety.

"Please note that commuter services for Limuru and Ruiru remain suspended due to ongoing track repair works on those lines," Kenya Railways said.

The notice further cautions commuters that services might be subject to change depending on weather conditions.

Kenya Railways expressed their appreciation for the public's patience and understanding as they work towards complete restoration of normalcy across the network.

Passengers are encouraged to stay updated on any potential changes through official Kenya Railways channels.
