In a case highlighting the dangers of reckless behaviour on the roads, two men, Peleg Mosongo Monari and Peter Igadwa Aggrey, were arraigned at Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday.

They pleaded guilty to charges of riding in a dangerous position along Mombasa Road, a busy highway in Nairobi.

The incident, which involved the duo hanging precariously on a moving Mercedes Benz, was captured on video and sparked outrage on social media.

The National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) and the police collaborated to identify and apprehend the men.

They were arrested and held at Capitol Hill Police Station.

This case comes amid growing concern over Kenya's rising road fatality statistics.

The NTSA has expressed strong support for the National Police Service (NPS) in their efforts to enforce road safety regulations and crack down on dangerous driving practices.
