Brian Ndung’u Waititu, son of former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu, was on Monday charged at Milimani Law Courts in Nairobi with driving while under the influence of alcohol.
Ndung’u was arrested on Monday at 1:30am while driving a Toyota Probox vehicle on Muindi Mbingu Street in Nairobi while drunk.
According to police, when he was arrested the former governor’s son, he was too drunk to control the vehicle in his possession.
Ndung’u pleaded guilty to the charge before Nairobi Senior Principal Magistrate Esther Kimilu but begged the court for leniency, vowing not to repeat the offense.
The 25-year-old law student at Strathmore University was released on a Sh30,000 cash fine or serve three months in jail.
