The Government Advertising Agency (GAA) has officially awarded Convergence Media, publishers of The Star newspaper, the exclusive contract to print and distribute MyGov, the official Government medium for public sector print advertisements.

This decision is in line with the Treasury Circular No. 09/2015 of July 10, 2015, which centralizes public sector advertising under the purview of the GAA.

Under the terms of the new two-year contract, The Star newspaper will be the sole platform for public sector print advertisements, excluding those from the counties.

The move follows a tender process in which Convergence Media presented the lowest and most sustainable bid, securing the contract to print and circulate MyGov.

According to the terms of the contract, all public institutions are now mandated to channel their print advertisements exclusively through MyGov.

Requests for exemptions to publish advertisements on days other than Tuesday (MyGov's publication day) must be directed to The Star newspaper, subject to authorization by the GAA.

The GAA emphasizes that no requests by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) will be approved for placing print advertisements on any platform other than Convergence Media.

This directive aims to streamline the advertising process, ensuring a cohesive and centralized approach.

To facilitate a smooth transition, the GAA issues the following guidelines:

All planned advertisements from public institutions should be submitted to the Director, Government Advertising Agency, by Friday each week.

This timeline allows designers and printers ample time to complete the layout before the publication and circulation of MyGov on the following Tuesday.

Approvals for advertisements scheduled for MyGov should be granted by close of business every Friday.

This enables the finalization of designs, page allocation for advertisements, and the subsequent printing and timely circulation of the paper.

These timelines are essential to guarantee that the Government Advertising Agency and Convergence Media can efficiently deliver advertising services through the MyGov publication.

The Star newspaper's exclusive role as the printer and distributor of MyGov reflects a strategic move towards a centralized and streamlined approach to public sector advertising.

The Star newspaper's wide presence on all online and broadcasting channels run by Convergence Media further ensures the extensive reach and impact of MyGov, solidifying its position as the primary channel for public sector print advertisements.
