A significant traffic jam has engulfed the Rironi-Mai Mahiu Road following a trailer accident that left the vehicle wedged against the roadside railings, completely blocking traffic in both directions.

The trailer veered off the road and crashed into the railings on the Rironi-Mai Mahiu Road, causing a major traffic jam that is impacting motorists traveling to and from Mai Mahiu.

Promptly alerted by the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), motorists and other road users are advised to avoid the congested stretch and utilize alternative routes, including the main Naivasha-Nairobi highway.

"Rironi - Mai Mahiu Road is experiencing a huge traffic jam after a trailer veered off the road and crashed into the railings blocking traffic to and from Mai Mahiu," KeNHA notice read.

"Motorists and other road users are advised to avoid the swelling traffic jam by using alternative routes including the main Naivasha to Nairobi highway."

According to KeNHA, the recovery process is underway to tow the cabin off the carriageway and clear the road.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution and follow traffic instructions and to check for updates on road conditions before embarking on their journeys especially during the rainy season.
