Kiprono Kittony, Chairman of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), has emerged as one of six finalists for the prestigious position of Chair of the World Chambers Federation/International Chamber of Commerce (WCF).

This development marks a significant milestone in the career of the Kenyan business luminary, as he vies for leadership in the global chambers movement.

The Paris Headquartered World Chambers Federation (WCF), which serves as the foremost global umbrella organization for Chambers of Commerce worldwide, is currently reviewing the candidacies of these finalists.

This high-profile election holds the promise of advancing Kenya's economic landscape and enhancing global trade prospects.

Kittony, brimming with enthusiasm about his candidacy, expressed his aspirations, saying, "I'm delighted to offer my leadership. If successful, this will be a great opportunity to attract investors to Kenya and drive growth in the value and volume of our exports."

His sentiments are echoed by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI), a proud member of the WCF, which has thrown its unequivocal support behind Kittony's candidacy.

KNCCI President Erick Rutto, in a heartfelt statement, acknowledged Kittony's pivotal role in revitalizing the chamber during his tenure as Chairman.

"He is widely credited with the revival of KNCCI. His candidacy has been endorsed widely, and if he succeeds, he will be the first business leader from the continent to ascend to this position," Rutto emphasised.

Kittony is no stranger to the business world, having held prominent positions throughout his illustrious 3-decade career.

He served as the Chairman of KNCCI and held the position of Vice Chair representing Africa at WCF.

Moreover, he is the founding Chairman of Radio Africa Group, serves as the CEO of Capital Realtime, and boasts a stellar record as a Board Chairman and Company Director, contributing to several esteemed boards.

His business interests span diverse sectors, including media and telecommunications, technology, agriculture, real estate, hospitality, and financial services.

Educationally, Kittony holds a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Law degree from the University of Nairobi.

His pursuit of knowledge also led him to attain a Global Executive MBA from the United States International University, in collaboration with Columbia University.

The international business community is closely following these developments, as Kittony seeks to assume a pivotal role in furthering global trade and investment, with Kenya poised to benefit from his leadership if he emerges as the new Chair of the World Chambers Federation.
